woke up super early but the writing is still a bit sluggish.

Yesterday's write in was awesome because I got my word count done and I garantee you that I wouldn't have been able to do that had I not been obligated to show up and stay and write without chatter. If I had just shown up to the library on my own I would have been too distracted to get much done and probably left early. So thank you all who came. And for those of you who didn't you should schedule your own write ins because they really work.

I had planned to try and stay neck and neck with Ensis but it looks like he's pulled out ahead of me by at least a days worth of writing. I believe LadyTartan also has a strong word count already. Yay you!

The rest of us should be on the look out for flying guilt monkeys which have been deployed over the weekend. Here I sat browsing the internet when I should have been typing. There was a sudden crash of thunder and a flash of lightning and suddenly between my cookies and coffee appeared WRIMO the official flying guilt monkey of CCNaNoWriMo. As I am typing this he and his buddy Nano are leveling me with a stare that says "Blog writing is NOT novel writing."

They are only allowing me to finish up by working out a few of my creative issues. The main one right now being that I seem to have lost any inspiration I might have once had for writing male characters. All of my characters are women so far. I tried making one of them male but it was just awkward and clunky. So rather than try to force anything I just changed the character back to a woman. So my only male characters are still far out numbered. I could try resurecting some of the men in my stories from the past but that might mean a major change in the timeline. It could be fun though... hey I think I just got an idea for how that could happen. Thank you guilt monkeys!

Later that day....

Wow it feels like it's been 3 days since my last post and that was just this morning. :-s Well I'm anticipating that I'll have the free time that I'll need for NaNo. lol But things never work out the way we plan do they? I remain optimistic in the face of reality. We're normally busy at work in the first week of every month but that should calm down soon. Plus I just had a major weight lifted off my shoulders so I'm a happy duck. Ok gotta get back to work so I can get back to writing when I'm done with that.
